The question
The design prototype never drew a topic overview page. Its topic address, for example prototype/topic/town-meeting, is the Resource Library with one filter switched on. The draft site's hub pages, with an overview text, a curated sidebar and a resource list, therefore have no design to match. Someone has to decide what the finished page looks like.
What exists today
Decision 2, already settled on 11 September, keeps the overview pages and puts them into the library as a pinned "Topic overview" card. The open question is purely visual.
Options
Option A — Approve the draft hub page as the design; restyle it with the prototype's type, colour and card styles our recommendation
- No new design work; the theme already uses the prototype tokens.
- VLCT sees it on the draft site within the next build.
Option B — Commission a prototype mock of one topic page first
- A day of design work; gives VLCT a picture before anything is built.
- Delays the sidebar rollout until the mock is approved.
Option C — Drop the overview page; a topic is just a filtered library
- Matches the prototype exactly.
- Throws away ~30 pages of VLCT's own writing, which decision 2 already rejected.
What we need from you
- Option A: approve the hub page as the design (recommended)
- Option B: mock one page in the prototype first
- Option C: no overview pages
If we hear nothing before the next build, we go with the recommendation: Option A. Reply to Kalman by email, or comment on the linked issue.
